The Principal and Vice Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University, Professor Steve Chapman, visited WLC as part of his annual tour of all the Heriot-Watt University campus locations. Professor Chapman addressed a large gathering WLC staff at Parliament House which included the department heads, deputies and administrators, Student Services Admissions and Registry team leaders and University staff based at WLC, to present his vision for the future of the University and the part that he expects WLC to play.
Professor Chapman spoke of the success of the University over the preceding 12 months, notably it being voted Scottish University of the Year for the second year running, and No 1 in the UK for Student Learning Experience, and talked of the very positive effect that this success was having on graduate employment. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Governors of WLC, Mr Simon Cleaver, who thanked Professor Chapman for his support during 2013 and spoke of his enthusiasm for the further development of WLC as an Associate Campus of the University.
